レイテ島の南に位置するSogod BayとLimasawa Island にダイビングサイトが広がっている。タクロバン空港にマニラからアクセスする。
空港からは車で3時間。セブから高速フェリーにてもアプローチ可能。
セブからマラパスクア、レイテ、ボホールの南のマンバホ島を回る人気のダイビングクルーズでも欠くことのできない人気エリア。
レイテ島といえば戦争というイメージが強いが今やサウスレイテはジンベイザメも見られる著名なダイビングエリア。遭遇シーズンは11月から4月で下記のダイビングサービスによると遭遇率は90～100% とのこと。一日かけて湾内を回り、シュンーケリングでアプローチする。
リーフは全体的にサンゴにおおわれた緩やかな地形が多いが、半島の沖合のリマサワ島には垂直のドロップオフの地形もある。
多様なサンゴに群れるメラネシアンアンティアスやスズメダイが美しい。
大型のオオモンカエルアンコウや、ピグミーシーホース、タツノオトシゴ、スターゲイザーウミテングなどマクロも充実。
SOGOD BAY 南部の Padre Burgos Pier 周辺でのマックダイヒビングは注目の的。

The dive sites are spread over Sogod Bay and Limasawa Island in the south of Leyte. Access from Manila to Tacloban Airport. It is a 3-hour drive from the airport. A high-speed ferry from Cebu is also available. This is a popular area for diving cruises from Cebu to Malapascua, Leyte, and Mambajo Island south of Bohol.
South Leyte is a prominent diving area where whale sharks can be seen. The encounter season is from November to April, and the encounter rate is 90-100%. The approach to the site is by snorkeling around the bay, which takes one day.
The reef is generally gently sloping and covered with coral, but there is also a vertical drop-off at Limasawa Island off the peninsula.
Melanesian Anthias and Chromis are beautifully schoooled on the diverse corals.
Macro fish such as large giant frogfish, pygmy seahorses, seahorses, and stargazer sea fans are also abundant.
Mack dive around Padre Burgos Pier in the southern part of SOGOD BAY is the center of attention.
