面積約21キロ平方メートル タイ本土より約70キロ。
①バンコクからサムイ島に空路でサムイ市へ。そここからフェリーでタオ島の南の町へ向かいます。所要時間は フライト約1時間20分 ＋ 待ち時間・フェリー移動約1時間30分〜2時間
②バス ＋ フェリー（チュンポン経由）
バックパッカーなどに人気のある格安ルート。バンコクのカオサン通り等から夜行バス（VIPバス）で南部の港町チュンポンへ行き、そこから高速船に乗り換えます。所要時間: バス約8時間 ＋ 船約2時間
Koh Tao, which means “Turtle Island” in Thai, is a beautiful resort destination that attracts divers from all over the world. Tourists flock here from every corner of the globe. There are many dive shops, hotels, and restaurants, and English is widely spoken.
There are towns on the southern and eastern sides of the island.
Area: approximately 21 square kilometers; located about 70 kilometers from the Thai mainland.
Access
① Fly from Bangkok to Koh Samui City. From there, take a ferry to the town on the southern side of Koh Tao. Total travel time: approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes by flight, plus waiting time and ferry travel of about 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours.
② Bus + Ferry (via Chumphon)
A budget-friendly route popular with backpackers. Take a night bus (VIP bus) from Khao San Road in Bangkok to the southern port town of Chumphon, then transfer to a high-speed boat. Total travel time: approximately 8 hours by bus plus about 2 hours by boat.
