セブ島周辺の海には多くの生物が生息し、ドロップオフやケーブなど多様な地形が楽しめる。国際空港から車で10分という便利さにもかかわらす、フィリピン随一のリゾート地・マクタンエリアには多くの大型リゾートやダイビングサービスが点在している。海岸近くはマクロ天国でフィッシュウォッチの宝庫。マクタン島の南東側の海岸はどこもソフトコーラルに覆われたマクロ系の砂地のスロープから、５０m以上の深さのドロップオフにつながっている。どこも船で10-20分でアクセス可能なので気軽のダイビングを楽しむことができる。アグスやコンティキ等のスポットではツマグロハタンポの群れやクマノミや、フリソデエビ、ニシキテグリ、ウミヘビなどにも出会える。南側のマリゴンドンケーブはかなり深く巨大な穴でソフトコーラルがびっしり付いている。
一方、セブ島の南西のボートで４０-５０分のヒルトガン島やナルスアン島はドロップオフに囲まれており、ロウニンアジやギンガメアジ、オキサヨリ、ツバメウオの群れと出会えるワイド派向けのエリア。ここからはキャビラオ島やオスロブまで遠征可能。

The waters around Cebu Island are teeming with life and offer a variety of topographic features such as drop-offs and caves. Although only a 10-minute drive from the international airport, the Mactan area, the Philippines' premier resort area, is dotted with many large resorts and diving services. The area near the coast is a macro paradise and a treasure trove of fish watching. The southeastern coast of Mactan Island has a macro sandy slope covered with soft corals that leads to a drop-off at a depth of 50 meters or more. All of them are accessible by boat in 10-20 minutes, so you can enjoy easy diving. At spots such as Agus and Kontiki, you can see schools of sweeprer, clownfish, coral lobster and sea snakes. The Maligondon Cave on the south side of the island is a huge, deep hole covered with soft corals. On the other hand, Hilutugan Island and Nalusuan Island, 40-50 minutes by boat from the southwest of Cebu Island, are surrounded by drop-offs where you can encounter schools of Giant trevally and bat fish. From here, it is possible to go as far as Cavilao Island and Oslob.
